September 2009 Meeting: DotNetNuke & Social Networking

Will MorgenweckHow can you make your site more "social?" Do you want to improve communication with your customers? Would you like to add more capabilities to your existing community? Are social tools a good fit for your site, your users and for you? We will look at what capabilities exist today within DotNetNuke along with administrative and maintenance tasks that you should consider. We will also review what modules and widgets you can easily add to your existing site. Then we will show how you can interact with other popular social networking tools. Finally, we will walkthrough how you can leverage DotNetNuke and various modules to build your own social networking site.

The meeting is set for Thursday, September 10 at 7pm at 1 Barnes Industrial Rd S in Wallingford.

Will Morgenweck has been developing web applications since 1995. He is the founder of Active Modules, Inc, a software company based in Charleston, SC, specializing in commercial and custom modules for the DotNetNuke application framework. Active Modules, Inc. introduced their first commercial module in March of 2004. Active Forums, an award-winning discussion and collaboration tool for DotNetNuke, has been one of the top commercial modules available since its release. When not working, Will enjoys boating and fishing with his wife and four children.

Will, Thanks for your insight into Social Networking in the business environment. In talking with businesses about the advantages I think we need a new term. Something like "Workplace Collaboration" or... how about "ActiveWorkplace"!!
