April 2009 Meeting: Custom DNN Module Security

In our April meeting, DNN core team alumnus Dan Caron will provide an overview of DotNetNuke 4.x and 5.x custom module security by building an extension from the ground up. DNN makes it easy for module developers to specify custom security options including the ability to set very granular permissions on any extension.

The meeting is set for Tuesday, April 28 at 7pm at 1 Barnes Industrial Rd S in Wallingford.

Dan Caron is MassMutual's professional .NET leader and also the leader of the Western Mass. .NET Users Group. He is an author of two technical books (Professional DNN 4.0 and DNN ASP.NET Portals). He has been a major contributor to the DotNetNuke open-source portal project since the core team was founded in 2003. Some of his noteworthy contributions include the exception handling framework, event logging provider, event viewer, module/page security, web-farm support, namespace hierarchy organization and the event scheduler. Dan is now an alumnus of the DotNetNuke Core Team and Board of Directors. Based on his significant community contributions he has been recognized by Microsoft as a Most Valuable Professional (MVP) in 2005 and 2006.
